  2. BFSI

BFSI Programs

Banking, Financial Services and Insurance programmes designed with employers in the sector. Many begin with a provisional job offer and pay a stipend while you train.

Here, the job offer comes before the course

BFSI stands for Banking, Financial Services and Insurance. It is one of India's largest employers of graduates, and it hires from every degree: arts, science, commerce and engineering alike.

Many banks, insurers and finance companies no longer wait for graduates to arrive job-ready. They select candidates first, then train them through a partner university or academy in exactly the products, systems and rules they will work with. You finish with a recognised qualification and a desk to go to.

We help you find the programme that matches your age, marks and career aim, and prepare you for its selection process.

The usual route after a degree
  1. Study
  2. Search for work
  3. Interview
  4. Offer

You pay for a qualification first and find out later whether an employer wants it.

The employer-linked BFSI route
  1. Interview
  2. Provisional offer
  3. Train and earn
  4. Join

The employer chooses you before training starts. Fees are normally payable only after the provisional offer is in your hands.

How a one-year programme is spent

Only the first phase is in a classroom. The rest of the year you are inside the employer's branches, and paid a stipend throughout. The split below is typical; some programmes run six months on campus and three in each of the other phases.

Months 1 to 4

Campus training

Residential study of banking products, regulation, customer service and selling, with case studies, e-learning and practice in a model branch that runs the same systems as a real one.

Where
Training campus, with hostel
Stipend
A small monthly allowance
Months 5 to 7

Internship

You are placed in a working branch to observe and shadow staff, with a faculty mentor checking in.

Where
Employer's branch
Stipend
Higher monthly stipend
Months 8 to 12

On-the-job training

You do the real role with light targets, supported by your team and a senior colleague. Performance in this phase counts towards your confirmation.

Where
Employer's branch, possibly in another city
Stipend
Higher monthly stipend continues
End of month 12The university awards your PG Diploma and the employer confirms you as a full-time employee, provided you have cleared every phase.

Who can apply

Requirements for employer-linked programmes are set by the employer and are stricter than for a university course. These are the conditions you will meet most often.

Age
Usually 21 to 30 on the date of applicationSome programmes stop at 27 or 28.
Degree
A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised universityMost ask for a regular, full-time degree. Check with us first if yours is by distance or online.
Marks
Usually 50% or more in graduation
Credit record
A clean repayment historySome employers ask for a credit score of 700 or above, or no credit history at all.
Location
Willingness to be posted anywhere in India
Language
Clear spoken English; a regional language helps
Experience
Not needed for most programmesLeadership programmes are for working bankers.

Outside these limits?

University M.B.A., PG Diploma, Diploma and Certificate courses in BFSI have no employer-set age band and wider entry requirements. Diplomas and some certificates are open after 10+2.

If you are already working, a part-time or online qualification may fit better. See Online Programs and WILP Programs.

From application to your first day

Six steps, in this order. The fourth is the one that sets these programmes apart.

  1. 1

    Apply and register

An online form with your academic details. Some programmes charge a small application fee.

  2. 2

    Take the assessment

An online test, usually of aptitude, reasoning, numeracy and English.

  3. 3

    Attend the interview

A personal interview with the academy and the employer, looking at communication, attitude and fit for a customer-facing role.

  4. 4

    Receive a provisional offer

The employer issues a provisional offer letter naming the role and pay. Your final appointment depends on completing the training.

  5. 5

    Train

You pay the fee or arrange a loan, then move through campus training, internship and on-the-job training.

  6. 6

    Join the employer

On passing every phase you are confirmed as a full-time employee and receive your qualification.

What you pay and what you earn

Indicative figures for one-year, employer-linked banking programmes. Shorter programmes cost less.

Going out

Fees

Programme fee
About ₹2.5 lakh to ₹4 lakh, plus GSTNormally covers tuition, boarding and lodging for the campus phase only.
When it is due
After the provisional offerSelf-funded students usually pay in two instalments during the programme.
Education loan
Available for most programmesOften arranged through the employer bank itself or other lenders.
Coming in

Stipend and salary

During campus training
A few thousand rupees a monthMeant for out-of-pocket expenses.
During internship and on-the-job training
About ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 a month
After you join
Around ₹4 lakh a year and upwardsFor officer-grade roles, including incentives and benefits. Operations and short-programme roles start lower. A few employers also refund the programme fee after a set period of service.

These ranges are a guide drawn from programmes open in recent intakes. Fees, stipends and salaries are set by each employer and institution and are revised regularly. We confirm the exact figures for each programme before you apply.

Read the offer letter before you pay

Advertisements call these programmes "job assured". The letter you receive is a provisional offer, and it comes with conditions. Go through these six points with us, and with your family, before you accept.

Provisional means conditional

Your appointment is confirmed only if you complete every phase, pass the assessments and meet attendance and conduct rules.

Where you will be posted

Internship, training and the final job can be anywhere in India, decided by the employer's needs. A posting near home is not promised.

What the work really is

Most entry roles are in sales and relationship management, with monthly targets. Make sure that suits you.

What the fee covers

Usually the campus phase only. During internship and on-the-job training you meet your own rent and living costs from the stipend.

The loan stays yours

If you leave the programme early or are not confirmed, an education loan still has to be repaid. Ask for the refund and withdrawal policy in writing.

Service period

Check for a minimum service commitment, and the exact conditions attached to any fee refund or joining bonus.

Selection, offers, postings and confirmation are decided by the employer and the training institution alone. Revamp Consultancy guides and prepares you; we do not recruit for any employer and cannot guarantee a job.

Where the work can take you

You start in a branch or with customers. Strong performers move up quickly, and some programmes say trainees can be considered for branch manager within about five years.

What we do for you

There are many programmes, each with its own age band, fee and employer terms. We help you compare them honestly and apply to the ones you have a real chance with.

Our role is guidance. The employer and the institution take every selection and hiring decision.

Questions students ask us

Is the job really guaranteed?

No one can guarantee it, and we will not tell you otherwise. What you receive is a provisional offer from the employer before training begins. It becomes a confirmed job when you complete the programme and pass its assessments. The programmes are designed so that trainees who complete them join the employer, but the condition is real.

I am not a commerce graduate. Can I apply?

Yes. Employer-linked programmes accept graduates of any discipline, and the campus phase teaches banking from the basics. Engineers, science and arts graduates join every batch.

What qualification will I hold at the end?

One-year programmes normally award a Post Graduate Diploma from the partner university. Shorter programmes give a certificate from the training academy. We tell you who awards the qualification for each programme, so you know exactly what will be on your certificate.

My degree is by distance learning. Am I eligible?

For many employer-linked programmes, no: they ask for a regular, full-time degree. Rules differ between employers, so let us check before you pay any application fee. University BFSI courses are generally open to you.

I am over 30. What are my options?

Most employer-linked entry programmes will be closed to you, but university M.B.A., PG Diploma and Certificate courses in BFSI have no such age band. If you already work in a bank, leadership and specialist programmes are designed for experienced staff.

Why does my credit score matter?

Banks and lenders expect their own staff to have a sound repayment record. Missed EMIs or credit card dues can count against you. If you have never borrowed, that is normally acceptable.

Can I choose the city I work in?

You can usually state a preference, but the employer decides. Apply only if you are prepared to relocate for both the training and the job.

Should I take a one-year programme or a short one?

The one-year route brings a postgraduate diploma and an officer-grade start, at a higher fee. Short programmes cost less and get you earning within weeks, usually in a more junior role. We compare both against your goals and budget.
