About Revamp Consultancy

What does Revamp Consultancy do?

We are a private education and career consultancy based in Pondicherry. We help students, career aspirants and working professionals choose a course, a country or a career route, and prepare to apply for it. Our programmes are Study in India, Study Abroad, Study MBBS Abroad, Work Abroad, Internship Abroad and Test Preparation.

Where does your service end?

With an introduction. Once we have counselled you and helped you prepare, we introduce you to the university, partner edtech company, placement service provider or licensed agent who takes your application forward. Admission, placement and visas are decided by them. The Our Services page sets this out programme by programme.

Is Revamp Consultancy a university or a college?

No. We do not run degree, diploma or certificate programmes recognised by any statutory authority, and we do not award academic qualifications. Any degree, diploma or certificate you earn is awarded by the institution you study with.

Do you guarantee admission, a visa, a scholarship or a job?

No. Universities decide admissions, governments decide visas, lenders decide loans and employers decide whom to hire. We give you an honest view of your chances and help you prepare well.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The first conversation is free. We use it to understand your goals, marks, budget and timeline, and to tell you which options are realistic.

Do I have to come to Pondicherry?

No. Our office is in Pondicherry and you are welcome to visit, but we work with students across India. You can reach us by phone on 8300 130 550 or by email at info@revampconsultancy.com.

Should I check the information you give me?

Yes, always. We work to keep our information accurate and current, but admission rules, fees and visa policies are changed by the authorities concerned. Please confirm what matters to you with the institution or authority before you decide.

Fees, refunds and legal

When do I pay the consultancy fee?

After the service has been delivered. We raise an invoice only once the consultancy service has been provided to you. GST is extra.

Is the consultancy fee refundable?

No. Because the fee is charged after the service has been delivered, it is not refundable once paid. The full wording is in the Refund Policy.

Are university fees part of your fee?

No. Tuition, application, test, visa and partner fees are set by those organisations and paid under their own terms. They are separate from our consultancy fee.

Can I cancel after I have started?

You can stop at any time by writing to us. What happens to a fee depends on whether the service has already been delivered and invoiced. Please read the Cancellation Policy.

What do you do with my documents and personal details?

We use them to counsel you and, with your consent, to introduce you to the institution or partner relevant to your application. We do not sell personal data. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how to ask for correction or deletion.

Where can I read the full terms?

On the Legal page. It carries the Disclaimer, the Cancellation Policy, the Refund Policy, the Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions.

Study in India

Which kinds of programme do you guide students into?

Ten kinds: On Campus, Online, ODL (open and distance learning), WILP for working professionals, BFSI, Vocational, Pre-University through open schooling, Research, Credit Transfer and Other Programs. Each has its own page under Study in India.

Is an online degree accepted for jobs and higher studies?

An online degree from a UGC-recognised university is treated as equivalent to the same degree in conventional mode. Individual employers and universities abroad set their own entry requirements, so check for the specific job or course you have in mind.

Is a distance degree equal to a regular degree?

A degree awarded through ODL by a UGC-recognised university is treated as equivalent to the same degree in conventional mode. As with online degrees, check the requirement of the particular employer or university you are aiming for.

Which courses cannot be studied online or by distance?

Degrees that need clinical, laboratory or teaching practice must be studied on campus. These include nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, AYUSH, veterinary science, architecture, engineering and B.Ed. A Ph.D. also cannot be done in online or distance mode.

I work full-time. What are my options?

Several. A Work Integrated Learning Programme lets you study without leaving your job. UGC-entitled online degrees and ODL programmes suit management, commerce, arts and computer applications. For research, some universities offer a part-time Ph.D.

How do I know a college is properly approved?

Every professional course has a regulator. Before you apply, we check that the university is recognised and that the specific course holds approval from the right council for the current year. You can confirm this yourself on the regulator's website.

Can I complete Class 10 or 12 without going back to school?

Yes, through open schooling. You study from the board's material in your own time and sit the board examination at an allotted centre. Whether a particular college or examination accepts a particular board is decided by them, so we check this for your goal before you enrol.

I left my degree halfway. Do I have to start again?

Not necessarily. Through credit transfer, a university can accept the courses you have already passed. At least half of the degree's credits must be earned at the university that awards it, so an offer of a degree in a few months is not a genuine credit transfer.

Is the job guaranteed in a BFSI programme?

No. In an employer-linked programme you receive a provisional offer before training begins. It becomes a confirmed job when you complete the programme and pass its assessments.

Study Abroad

When should I start planning?

Ideally 12 to 18 months before your intake. That leaves time to prepare for tests, shortlist universities, look for scholarships and complete the visa process without rushing.

Do I need IELTS or another English test?

Most English-taught programmes ask for a score such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo. Some universities accept alternatives or waive the test in certain cases. The visa office may still ask for one, so check both.

How much does it cost to study abroad?

It varies widely by country, city, university and course. We give you an estimate of tuition and living costs for each option on your shortlist, and point you to scholarships that could reduce them.

Can I get an education loan?

Banks and other lenders in India offer education loans for study abroad, with or without collateral depending on the amount. We explain the documents and the process. The lender decides the loan.

Can I work while I study?

Many destinations allow international students to work part-time within limits set by their visa rules. The rules differ by country and change from time to time, so check the current position for your destination.

What if my marks are not high, or I have a study gap?

There are still good options. Foundation, diploma-to-degree and pathway programmes are designed for exactly this. Tell us your profile and we will show you realistic routes.

Which countries can I look at?

The USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, France and Germany, the UAE, Malaysia and Singapore, Ireland, Switzerland and Spain, and many more across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean. Start from the Study Abroad page.

Study MBBS Abroad

Is NEET required for MBBS abroad?

Under Indian regulations, a qualifying NEET-UG result is required if you want to return and register as a doctor in India. We advise every student to keep the India option open.

Can I practise in India after MBBS abroad?

Yes, if your course meets every condition of the National Medical Commission's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, and you then clear the screening test and complete a twelve-month internship in India.

What are FMGE and NExT?

FMGE is the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, the screening test foreign graduates take at present before they can register in India. NExT is the National Exit Test, which is intended to replace it. Which one applies to you depends on the rules in force when you graduate.

How do I choose the right medical university?

Start with where you want to practise. Then check recognition, curriculum, teaching language, hospitals, internship and total cost. Do not choose on tuition fees alone. The pathways page groups countries by where their graduates can go on to practise.

What does MBBS abroad cost?

It varies widely by country and university. Ask for a written estimate of tuition, hostel, food, insurance and travel for the whole course before you decide.

When should I begin?

While you are in Class 12, or as soon as you have your NEET result. Intakes, visa timelines and seat numbers differ by country, and early applicants have more choice.

Work Abroad

Is Revamp Consultancy a recruiting agent?

No. We are a counselling and preparation service. Where recruitment or placement is part of your route, it is handled by recruiting agents registered with the Ministry of External Affairs and by licensed consultants abroad. We introduce you to them, and you can check their licence before you go further.

Can I work abroad without a job offer?

For most work visas you need a job offer first. The exceptions are points-based routes such as Canada's Express Entry and Australia's skilled visas, and job-search visas such as Germany's Opportunity Card.

Do I need IELTS to work abroad?

For the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand you will almost always need an English test. Most Gulf employers do not ask for one. Germany and Japan look at their own language instead.

How do I know a job offer is genuine?

Verify the employer independently. Insist on a written contract and a visa that permits work. Check any agent's registration on the eMigrate portal. Walk away from a job offered on a tourist or visit visa.

How long does the whole process take?

From a few weeks for some Gulf jobs to a year or more for routes that include a new language or professional licensing, such as nursing in Germany or skilled migration to Canada and Australia.

Can my family come with me?

Many skilled work visas allow a spouse and children to join you. Some categories, and many lower-salary permits in the Gulf, do not. Check the rule for your exact visa.

Internship Abroad

Are internships abroad paid?

Most of the programmes we guide students towards include a monthly allowance or stipend, and many hotels add a room and meals. The amount is written into your agreement. An allowance is meant to cover living costs while you train. It is not a salary.

Can I stay on and work after the internship?

An internship visa ends when the internship ends. Some hosts do invite good interns back, but that needs a new work permit. Nobody can promise it, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

Do I need to speak French or German?

For engineering teams in Germany and Belgium, English is often enough at work, and basic German or French makes daily life easier. For kitchens and hotels in France, basic French is strongly advised.

Will my college accept an internship abroad?

Your college decides. Many hotel management and engineering courses include an industrial training semester, and an internship abroad can often count towards it. Ask your training and placement office before you apply.

How early should I start?

Six to eight months before your internship semester. Interviews, the agreement, the host country's approval and the visa each take weeks, and they happen one after another.

Who arranges the placement?

Licensed placement partners and recognised sponsor organisations in the host country, and the host makes the final selection. We prepare you and introduce you to them.

Test Preparation

Which English test is the easiest?

None is easier for everyone. They measure the same ability in different ways. First check which tests your university accepts, then choose the format that suits you. A diagnostic test helps you decide.

Do I need my test score before I apply?

Not always. Many universities issue a conditional offer and wait for your score. The visa stage usually needs it, so plan to have your result before you pay a deposit.

How long does a score stay valid?

English test scores are valid for two years, and GRE and GMAT scores for five. German, DELF, DALF and JLPT certificates do not expire, though offices often ask for a recent one.

How early should I start preparing?

For an English test, two to three months before you need the score. For the GRE, GMAT or SAT, four to six months. For German, French or Japanese from the beginning, about a year.

Who books the test and pays the test fee?

You do, on the test owner's official website, with your own passport details. The test fee goes directly to the test owner and is separate from any coaching fee.

Do you guarantee a score?

No, and nobody honestly can. We can tell you your starting level, how far it is from your target, and what it will take to close the gap.

Is the certificate from your class a qualification?

No. A preparatory class ends with a Course Completion Certificate from us. It is not a degree, a diploma or a government-recognised qualification. Your official score comes from the test owner.
