American universities let you explore before you commit. You can take classes across subjects, choose your major later, add a minor, and move between universities by transferring credits.
Teaching is tied closely to research and industry. Labs, internships and campus recruiting are part of the degree, which is why the USA stays the first choice for STEM, business and research.

Some entries cover selected levels or programmes only. Ask us what is open for your profile.

You may work on campus for up to 20 hours a week in term time and full-time in official breaks. Off-campus work is allowed only with authorisation, such as Curricular Practical Training (CPT) that is part of your course.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) lets you work in your field for up to 12 months. Graduates of eligible STEM degrees can apply for a further 24 months. Longer stays usually need an employer-sponsored work visa such as the H-1B.
From 15 September 2026, new F-1 students are admitted for a fixed period, up to four years, instead of for the length of their studies. Students who need longer must apply for an extension, and the period to leave or change status after a course is 30 days. OPT is also under review. We check the current rules before you apply.
Medicine in the USA is a postgraduate course, and Indian doctors usually reach it through the USMLE and a residency. Our MBBS pages explain the route step by step.

Fall has the most courses, scholarships and assistantships, so most students aim for it. Spring is a good second option if you need more time for tests or documents. Start preparing about a year ahead.
Many US universities ask for a four-year bachelor's degree. A growing number accept a three-year degree, sometimes with a credential evaluation or a bridge programme. We shortlist the ones that accept your degree.
It depends on the programme. Many have made these tests optional, but a good score still helps for competitive courses and funding. We tell you which of your shortlisted programmes need a score.
CPT is work experience during your course that is part of the curriculum, such as an internship or co-op. OPT is work in your field, usually after you graduate. Your university must authorise both.
Yes. You can study the first two years at a community college at a lower cost and then transfer to a university to finish your bachelor's. This is often called the 2+2 route.
